Corsair RAM with MacBook

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

mac users have been debating about numerous RAM compatibility with their machine, and so do i. it all started when the needs of multitasking and heavy usage prompted me to consider upgrading my 1.5Gb memory. so  i bought a unit of 2G Corsair sodimm 800mhz RAM last week at local store for RM125 after made a quick research over the net.

corsairgmmy macbook is a third revision with 667mhz Front Side Bus and have been pairing with 1Gb TwinMOS 667mhz and stock Samsung RAM for over 2 years. despite having different speed (800mhz), the RAM performs great with my mac. with latency of 5-5-5-18, i guess it works hand in hand well with other RAM brand. i’ve read somewhere that people are having problems using different RAM speed in mac, even macrumors.com’s buying-RAM guide recommends using RAMs with same speed.

for about a week tested, i never had any problem with my machine. all applications run faster and smoother. HD .mkv movie files play directly without the need for me to wait for it to buffer. i would definitely recommend this RAM to mac users out there.
